Chiropractic FAQs

What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a natural treatment that focuses on the balance of all the body’s systems- muscular, skeletal, and neurological. With chiropractic adjustments it addresses the way these systems work together to allow the body to heal and function properly.

Who can benefit from chiropractic care?

Anyone with a spine! So the answer is everyone! Anyone who has a complaint of any type neck or back pain, tingling, constipation, digestive issues, you name it the list goes on! Even if you don’t have complaints, chiropractic can benefit you (Dr. Lauren gets adjusted weekly). It is a great holistic specialty for those who are interested in a non-pharmaceutical approach to health and wellness.

What techniques do you use?

Dr. Lauren is trained in a variety of chiropractic techniques which include Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, Webster, Extremity Adjusting, and Activator. Knowing all these techniques allows care to be personalized based on the individual needs of the patient. Along with these adjusting techniques, Dr. Lauren has knowledge of many soft tissue modalities including Intersegmental Traction, IASTM- Graston, Kinesiology Taping, and Cupping.

What will my first appointment look like?

Your first appointment at ReNewed Life Chiropractic will take 45 minutes to an hour. This amount of time allows Dr. Lauren to get a full understanding of the needs of the patient. During the visit you will discuss medical history, have a physical exam done, and an adjustment if appropriate based on findings of the history and exam.

What should I expect after my first appointment?

Following your first visit, you can expect to spend 15-20 minutes with Dr. Lauren. The time will depend on the individual patient. During your visit Dr. Lauren will assess your progress and provide an adjustment if necessary.

Do I really need to get adjusted regularly?

The short answer is no. However, it is so beneficial to continue care even when you’re not in pain! Regular adjustments help treat day to day aches and pains, allows the body systems to communicate effectively, decreases the frequency of colds and flu, and prevents ailments from coming back in the future.

Financial FAQs

Can I use my HSA/FSA?

Most often the answer is YES! Each HSA/FSA has their own specific rules, we will help you interpret and use those benefits!

Can I go to an out of network provider, and why would I?

An out of network provider means that a provider hasn’t signed a contract obligating them to restrictions of the insurance company. Why this can be beneficial to you, is that we are not confined to the number of visits per year allowed or a pre-set fee. The fee is often set nation-wide and is typically higher than our average price per adjustment. Also, we perform many complimentary procedures during each appointment that if contracted to insurance companies, we would be forced to charge you for.

Can I submit to my insurance on my own?

Absolutely! We can print the necessary forms for you to send in and submit to your insurance yourself.

What payment options do you have?

We provide a 5% discount for pre-paid care plan appointments made in office (excludes payments during online booking).  We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, as well as Visa Debit and Debit Mastercard.

While reading my insurance chiropractic benefits, I see the phrase “musculoskeletal” or “neuro-skeletal”. What does that mean?

In our experience, 100% of insurance companies have this clause and it is the #1 restriction on your care. Those are specific phrases that control the reason you’re not able to seek chiropractic care. This means that in order for insurance to consider coverage there must be a muscle or bone problem causing pain. That means that conditions that patients often come in for such as: ear infections, reflux, colic, constipation, asthma, ADD, autism, immune disorders, etc., are not covered under your insurance. With a cash based office, we are not contracted under these restrictions and are able to provide you care for them!
